The next morning was chilly and damp. Fog engulfed the remains of the cottage and most of the surrounding forest. A stream of water dripped down the wall and onto my head. Corvidae was awake, but Accipitridae was still seemingly asleep. Now would  be a good time to confront Corvidae. I thought, She probably wouldn’t yell at me as much. I quietly walked over and sat beside her. She looked up at me with a quizzical expression, I must have looked distressed. “What’s up Stridigae?” she asked. Looking down at the floor, I mumbled. “Well, I kind of overheard you last night, and did a bit of research.” She looked at me with a look of curiosity and disappointment. “I learned about Lukos, but why does he want me?” Suddenly two hands were on my shoulders. I should have known he was awake. I could feel him entering my mind. I didn’t bother trying to block him because I would have to tell him everything I knew anyway. When he was done he went and sat across from me. “I see you know more than we had thought.” He stated. Corvidae looked at him questioningly. “She knows about Lukos, who he is, and where he came from.” He answered. I sat there, still looking down, prepared to be yelled at. To my surprise Accipitridae put a hand on my knee and said, “ You were bound to find out eventually, at least you were here with us when you found out.” He continued to elaborate on things I had found out. “You are the one who disappeared sixteen years ago. That is why you are so powerful and have so much energy. Lukos wants you because he found this out, and well you know the rest.” I looked at him in fear and worry. “ How long have you known this?” I asked. “I only learned just recently, that is why I came. I found out Lukos was starting a larger, more thorough hunt for you. I wanted to make sure you were safe and prepared for what is to come.” Accipitridae responded in a caring tone. “ For what is to come? What is that supposed to mean?” I quickly inquired. For once Accipitridae didn’t have an answer and just looked me in the eyes. “You, determine everyone’s fate. Training begins this afternoon at approximately one.” With that he got up and left the safety of the underground room. I determine everyones fate. Me! I pondered over and over. I didn’t know how to feel or what to do. I was scared, confused, upset, and mainly I felt very unprepared and in the dark. I started to pace around the room thinking of the worst possible situations of ‘What is to come’ could mean.

Later that day I found Accipitridae outside casting a spell between two trees. “Ah there you are, early I see!” He exclaimed when he noticed me watching. I hadn’t really come to any conclusions about anything earlier so I was open to anything he was willing to tell me, or so I thought. He motioned me towards the trees and told me to walk inbetween them. This is crazy I’ve always walked between these trees, What sis he do? Fear struck me. Was I going to get zapped paralyzed or worse? I cautiously walked towards the space between the two young birch trees. Out of habit I created a small powerful shield around myself and stepped between the trees. Nothing happened. Relief washed over me as I turned around to see the astonished look on Accipitridae’s face. I think that was supposed to stop me. I carefully readjusted my eyes so I could see the energy holding the spell between the two trees. I was taken aback when I noticed that the spell was still in tact. By that time Accipitridae had gained a quizzical expression and walked towards the gap in between the trees. He reached out his hand as to put it between the trees but was stopped before he could pass the two trees. I leaned on a shed about five paces from the trees and let a little giggle escape me while watching Accipiridae fail to get past his own spell. Accipitridae looked at me unimpressed, then let loose a spell towards me. Hitting me square in the chest I was instantly unable to move or speak. He walked towards me with a confident smile. “Never let your guard down.” He calmly said while releasing the spell. My legs buckled under me and I fell to my knees.

As he turned back to the trees I let a spell loose, although I didn’t exactly know what it was going to do. I was very inexperienced and just let my energy barrel towards him, hoping it would have an effect. After a few seconds he started to laugh uncontrollably. Great all I can do is make people laugh to death. Well, this is really helpful. Just when I thought all the spell was going to do was make him laugh, he dropped to the ground unconscious. Oh no, oh no, oh no, what have I done. I considered all the possible things I could have managed to do. “Corvidae! Corvidae!” I yelled hoping she would hear me. I knelt beside Accipitridae making sure he was still breathing. Corvidae arrived not long afterwards. She knelt down on the otherside of him putting her hand on his forhead. I couldn’t tell what she was doing but 2 minutes later Accipitridae opened his eyes, dazed. He looked from Corvidae to me and back towards Corvidae.”Tomorrow you are training her.” He managed to say. Helping him get up I uttered my apologies and walked towards the forest behind the shed I had been leaning on.

“I’ll be back in a bit.” I called out towards Corvidae and Accipitridae. I started to mindlessly walk through the forest searching for deer or birds with my sensitive hearing. I had been walking for over an hour I thought judging my the position of the sun in the sky. It was probably around 2:30 in the afternoon. I don’t like this. I want to be normal. Why can’t I have been born without magic, or even with just a little bit. I don’t want to determine everyones fate. I sat down on a fallen tree and admired the colours the leaves had taken. I could hear rustling in the forest, thinking it was just a rabbit I turned my attention back to tracing the veins in the maple leaves that had fallen. “Who are you?” A little voice peeped from behind me. Not expecting the interruption I jumped a few feet away and turned to face the voice ready to fight. To my surprise, I was looking at a small girl. I looked into her eyes, which seemed to have more wisdom than her figure showed. “My name is Stridigae. Who might you be?” I inquired. “I am and will always be that which you see and feel around you. I am neither here, nor there, but am always around. I am the wind that rustles your hair and the painter of leaves.  Greetings!” The girl recited almost as if she enjoyed confusing others. Noticing my quizzical look she continued “ I am a nature guardian. Hmf. You’re no fun.” I giggled trying not to make her feel bad. She no later touched a tree and in the blink of an eye was behind me with a stick pinned to the small of my back. “Don’t underestimate me.” She said, still with a playful tone in her voice. Who is she and why is she talking to me? I wondered. As if knowing what I had thought she responded, “ I am a nature guardian as I said.” A hint of annoyance in her voice, “ I therefore am able to merge with all natural objects and travel through them faster than the speed of light. I like you, you smell like flowers.” She giggled a bit and then papered in front of me holding what I thought to be a violet but by closer inspection I noticed it was a ___________. “Why are you here, that is with me?” I asked, slightly less tense than before. “You seemed down and I wish to help. I know of who you are. You are one of whom none other can compare. You seek shadows and wish to bring out light. You are the cricet but in truth are the lion. I know a lot about certain things I may be of some help to you. If not, I hope you would not mind if I helped ease your tension. How about a game of tag?”  I looked at her still puzzled. “Sure.”
The line in it is a plant i have not yet decided on.
